With the tools of social history, Lawrence Babits has demonstrated what military historians have long argued: Solid military history, with some interesting minutiae about Revolutionary War soldiers. Where this book falls short is in a broader explanation of the campaign, which is too short, and in getting mired in useless details, like a list of what Captain commanded each company along the line.
